Questivas for the rest of us!
Steven, his brother and a group of their awesomely adventurous friends are currently having the time their lives at questival Seattle. So far they have completed such tasks as challenging a strange to wrestle an invisible crocodile and jumping in a waterfall. My favorite so far has been the task of eating a peice of fruit while maintaining eye contact with a strange for 15 seconds. Fruit of choice.... a whole watermelon! Those boys...
It's been so long, I'm not even sure where to begin! I'm just going to star adding pictures and go from there.
Caden and Evelyn have discovered Go Fish and it is their new favorite game. It's pretty funny to watch them play it by themselves because Caden doesn't quite have his number recognition down yet.
A morning selfie to Steven
We had the pleasure to help Grammy into the bank with a 5 gallon bucket of change to deposit for the kids swing set. Caden was just thrilled!
We had a super fun family night with balloons. We did balloon races, where you tie a string across the room with a straw on it then tape the balloon to the straw. The kids loved it. Evelyn loved blowing up the balloons and Caden loved letting them go. He thought that was quite possibly, the funniest thing ever
And this is how Caden helps me mop
The eggs we got from Josee and Wyatt's farm
And Caden got the cutest little pair of jammies with shorts but he didn't wan tot stand to take his picture but standing was the only way to show off his handsome legs...
So then I let him sit for the picture and he cheered right up.
Another sick day....boy that's good looking
Caden and his "sun" glasses
Me and Caden found a GeoSafari at the Goodwill and I couldn't have been more excited!!
We had these at Loon Lake school in Kindergarten and I loved it then and love it now. So then Evelyn and I got on Ebay and found some of the cards for 5-8year olds and we play all the time now. It's so fun!
And it was finally playhouse time!! When we got to the mountain to help assemble the play set, Grammy and Papa already has a good deal of it together and the kids were so excited to see it!
And the Hearts were reunited once again in March, only to then have and injury....
Evelyn got to go on a nice mommy and Evelyn date. We went to Zips and did a little bit of shopping.
I also was lucky enough to get caught up on my dental work this last month...
I made a ton of popcorn for a Relief Society event. The theme was maps and travel and what not so I made map colored candy popcorn
There was a lot of it!
Every month at Evelyn's school, they do a spirit day. This last month was Sports day so her and her friend Ana dressed as ballerinas and Caden, not to be left out, dressed as a soccer player to go to the gym.
And Evelyn came off the bus with this little gem one day...just a small scrap of paper that on one side said 3:30 and the other side said Moose Park. Apparently her and Ana sent an identical note home with every kindergarten on the bus...about 6 kids and their siblings and parents showed up so good turn out I'd say
Evelyn also got a new swim suit she loves to say the least
Caden got some sweet Woody jammies. He's just so handsome
We got stuck in the foyer one Sunday due to lack of seating and one of Evelyn's little friends was out there. Things were getting a little rowdy but they were trying. Instead of duck, duck, goose...here they are playing scripture, scripture, dress
And sweet Caden, I made the mistake of telling him that Papa was going to be picking him up after he got off work that day and he lay in front of the door starting at 7am until Papa come to get him around 3.
We went on a little vacation at the end of March. Steven had been up in Colville for a few weeks so the last week he was up there, me and the kids drove up for a night and had a little family vacation We went swimming and to the movies. We all had a real nice time.
While we were shopping around in Colville we were lucky enough to find Caden some overalls. To say he loves them would be a bit of an understatement. He'll ware them everyday, then we wash them and go again.
But really, can you blame him? look how nice they look with his tractor sweater.
Usually, when we head up to the mountain, on the driveway, either Caden or Evelyn gets to drive up, but their new favorite is just sitting in the back of the Blazer.
Little Evelyn is just growing up so fast. She's been so helpful with chores. She can fold her and Caden's laundry with out any help and she's happy to do. She likes being a "big mommy helper"
We did our first 5k as a family, The superhero family fun run. We were stupidly underdressed for the event but the kids still had a good time. Evelyn rocked it. She ran it in 40min. And by run I mean she would walk a bit, then dead sprint for a bit. It was all very impressive. Caden on the other hand, had a bit of a harder time. He just wanted to be pushed in the stroller.
And nothing excited these kids quite like a good piece of fruit. Caden had been wanting a cantaloupe of months, and finally, one looked ok enough to gamble on. And Caden, well he pert near ate the whole "camel-lope" all by himself
And then we had Easter! Evelyn decorated the piñata all by herself this year and everyone just loved it
The whole day was super cute. They had the scavenger hunt..
And the Easter egg hunt
And the piñata
And Caden refused to use utensils at dinner....
But my favorite part was they currently have a house pig that has to be bottle fed and I got to de the honors. Seriously the cutest little thing ever!
It was a pretty exhausting day...
The most time consuming thing we've had going on this last month has been me remodeling the kitchen.
First I had to paint the window sill white and the walls and soffits grey
Then I did the white tile backsplash with grey grout
Then smashed my hand with a hammer...
Then with a crow bar...
Then get some metal slivers..
Then smash again...
But after 7 solid days of work, Saturday to Friday putting in 10-14 hr days on just the kitchen, I finished
Steven and I just today finished the wooden crates that go under the sink so it will be 100% done once I stain them. It's been a lot of work but I'm really happy with it.
The poor kids though were so sick of it by the time I finished. I would've thought that they would've really enjoyed it because while I worked, they just got to play outside. riding bikes and making mud. but I guess they like me to be attentive too. Evelyn wanted me to roller-skate with her so bad she even drew a cute little picture in the driveway where I was painting. Then next week was spring break though and they got sick of hanging out with me again and all was right in the world
Spring break was a lot of fun. I failed so badly at taking pictures so I'll have to get pictures from Amanda and write more about it because this is all I have... Caden and his Papa
Dean and Jakey fighting
Couch sleeping...
Playing Mr.Potato
And a couple Caden took when I tried to teach him how to take pictures with my phone....
but we did do lots of fun things. We all went to the Camas Center water park and we went shopping and did the TNT Poppers and just hung out and had a nice time. After the poppers we had to hose off the side walk and the kids were running through the sprinkler and Evelyn was shouting, "Best. Spring .Break. Ever!!" And that was only on Sunday night! We also spent an evening at the farm....and went up to Loon Lake School because they have the best monkey bars and Evelyn LOVES monkey bars right now...I'll get some more pictures..
Evelyn drew Amanda and Jakey a nice farewell picture at church.
And, of course the highlight of everyone's month...getting my wisdom teeth out
It wasn't too bad I guess...I hadn't been put under since I had my tonsils out when I was like 5 so I was super nervous about that, but hey didn't care. It was a real, run em' though operation. I was there less than an hour from the time we checked in to the time I high stepped it out of there. They took me back, put an IV in me then I came to in a room with a nice blanket on me, they gave me a t-shirt and a bazillion pills and I was on my way
But I got ice cream!
I did good the first day really, then like day 3, they got pretty weird. you can only tell a little from this picture but my right side there is pretty red and it was super hot and not happy feeling.
But...I got a shirt out of it... They think that without my wisdom teeth being infected all the time that my general health will improve a lot. Not so many sinus infections and generally crappy colds, we're hoping anyway.
Me and my mommy also dyed my hair red. It was like really really red at first. like true crayon red. It's toned down and I think I like it ok. I don't know if I'd do it again, but I'll ride it out this time
Caden got to go stay with Grammy and Papa for two days while I was in bed with my teeth issues. And I guess I sent him there without his meme so when he come home it was quite a reunion. He loves his meme.
Evelyn got her Falcon Flier award on Friday and that is a big deal around here. She's been working really hard all school year on it. You have to pass off on 5 section, Knowing all your letters, all your sounds, all your numbers, all your sight words and counting to 100. She was so excited so we had a little impromptu party
And what's a Falcon Flier party without Falcon pancakes?
