Happy May!!! Nearly two weeks into May now and we've been busier than normal. Little Miss Evelyn asked me a month or so back if she could have a tea party and I thought well...she hasn't ever had a friend birthday party and we weren't planning on her having a friend birthday party this year, so why not! Thus our planning for Evelyn's May Day Tea Party began. Pink, of course, with cookies, apple juice, strawberry milk and games. And the attire was to wear their fanciest dress. The girls all had a really fun time.

The weeks before the party, Evelyn and I went to an assortment of thrift stores to find tea party cups and saucers. We were lucky enough to find a matching set with enough for everyone Evelyn invited. Everyone got tiara's and costume jewelry.

Evelyn and I made sugar cookies ahead of time then frosted them with a white royal icing color flow, which dries firm and smooth. So for the activity, I got food color pens and the girls colored their spring time cookies like they would a coloring book.

Josee was a little shy around all the new girls but she loved her some coloring book cookies! And we had made a ton of the cookies and told the girls to color as many as they wanted and to take some home to their families and pretty soon, like quickly, the cookies were gone, and we see one of the little girls with a bag of like 8 cookies and she looks up and says, "I have a big family." That one wasn't shy at all!
And we had out photo wall with butterfly's. Josee was too nervous to take her pictures with the group so she got one all by herself. Isn't she fancy!
Oh how Miss Evelyn loves her picture taken.

And as a surprise Grandma Dixie got Evelyn her very first porcelain tea set. We've been playing tea party nonstop since then.

HOWEVER, the day was not without incident. Caden was so clingy all that morning and not letting me clean, just crying and clinging, and then about an hour before our tea party guests were about to arrive, he threw up. Of course. And he was acting like he was sick so I was making him carry around a bucket, so that was all good, except when he does throw up, he shoves the bucket away, leaving me to pin his arms and catch the projectile with the bucket. BUT I did it!! and then round two of the puke came and when I lunged to catch it, spilled round one all over both of us and my bed. To much information? Too freaking bad because I've had more puke on me in the past two years than soap, shampoo and perfume combine. I've thrown away my best sheets because after so many times, THAT smell does not come out. We've had countless pillow and stuffed animal casualties and after one bought, actually ran our food storage out of laundry detergent.

So Caden was quarantined and Steven had to come home from work during the party to sit with him in the back.

Then, as it always goes, Evelyn got sick next but just a few days of a rather high fever and apparently her whole body hurt, or that's what she kept saying. Now it's my turn. And somehow also another kind of sick. No throw op, well, little throw up, but no fever, just some serious facial congestion, headache, body ache, you know, all the fun stuff. However, I seemed to snap out of it a bit yesterday for mothers day, so that was nice.

These are our Mother's Day family pictures this year. We used Evelyn's tea party butterfly wall and I think they turned out ok. It's getting harder and harder every year.

Caden is especially difficult. This is how he was for all of his individual pictures....
So I set up the camera, aimed it at the wall, gave him the remote, and left the room. He did a pretty good job. He's so naughty but so cute!

We've had lots of fun the last few weeks. Here's what we've been up to..
We go shopping with Grammy and GG on Thursdays and in order to get our groceries and get Caden's car seat from Grammy's car to ours across the parking lot, AND keep Caden from running wild, we just loaded him in his seat and on the cart and he loved it!

At one of our Sunday family dinners, the power went out. So we had a romantic candle lit family dinner.

We've also found out that my parents family cat of 10 year, Josephine, is actually a Joseph and the kids are so confused. Evelyn was coloring this picture of a cat and looked up and said, " This kitty is a boy and a girl." You can see in the picture, it is in fact, pink and blue.
Caden taking a relax at Target
And Caden needs to hide his evidence a little better. I found this on the table, which was to say a brand new jar of peanut butter that he managed to open and eat at least a half a cup of.
Also new with Caden, he had eczema in his eyes? What? Who has ever heard of that? But we went to get Evelyn's shots updated and the Dr was like, hey what's up with his eyes? One of them was nearly swollen shut that morning, now he kinds just looks droopy eyed. but they must itch like crazy and when he get's rubbing at them they flare up pretty good. Poor little man.
I'm in a monthly Bunco group and won this sweet bag this month!
Caden got in lots of trouble this last week and had to eat lunch alone in his room. He filled his whole mouth with juice and spit it all over Evelyn's lunch. So much juice her food was nearly floating on her plate.
And when he's not sentenced to lunch alone, he's eating everyone else's food, even if it's a salad
oh how sweet Evelyn loves to dance. This Dance was dedicated to Amanda on Mother's day, along with a song for all mothers...Can't figure out how to put sound bites on here...
And we just love Jamberry nails! Like a lot. My friend Amina gave me these teal patterned ones and they're my current favorite. I think I could've made a better choice with the accent nail but didn't want to redo them.
We also helped some friends set up for a yard sale and Cade fell in love with this unicorn they were selling, so to keep him busy, we bought it and he just loves it. He kept trying to get me to lay on it with him saying, "tum...fee..Ma...mee."
Someone needs to lean to hang on in a regular swing. His toes are about an inch from draggin'

 Evelyn just being Evelyn
They love, LOVE building with their blocks. I think this is the first and only time they joined forces to make on tower instead of building two towers, saying, "mine's better!" or "mine's Bigger!" the whole time, which inevitably ends in tears. Always Evelyn's tears. She either gets her feelings hurt because Caden's being mean, resulting in Evelyn crying, Caden get's his feeling hurt because Evelyn's being mean so Caden and throws things at Evelyn leaving her crying again.....BUT this one's nice
And another time of getting along-ness. They were on their flight to Japan and it was a long flight so they got their jammies on and took a nap on the plane. I know I've said this before but, I love Japanese Airlines.
This was the after Mother's Day meal activity. A Squirrel hunt.
And then Pictures the kids took...

Evelyn must have been proud of this picture

And lastly, my favorite segment, sleeping babies
 Round one night check....
 Round two night check...

Caden did get a bed swap. We switched it right before nap time one day this last week which wasn't the best idea because every time I walked past his room at nap time he was literally spinning on his head squealing, "I so happy, I so happy. New bed. New Bed. So Happy!" Wore himself right out though.

And I thought this one deserved a closer look....
