Well....I'm sick. And I've been sick for over a week now so we have had very little happenings. Steven was out of town in Cashmere last week and left again yesterday. He'll get back on Friday then we'll have two whole weeks of him coming home at night.

But this is what's been going on the last two weeks...

we had several days of rain so we had a fort day.
I didn't realize how well sealed off the fort was until Evelyn told me she though she had a fever.....well it was like 100 degrees in there so we had to leave one of the ends open the rest of the time the fort was up
One of Evelyn's friends gave her a tube of chapstick for Valentines day, so we had to get little Caden some because he was left out. He went with Dr.Pepper, and it went on red and stayed red
We also had a streak of warmer weather (pay no mind that Caden is wearing the exact same thing in all the pictures. This all took place over a week, he just loves his Spiderman sweater) So we walked to Moose Park

On another few sunny days, I kicked the kids out to play in the back yard. They got some spoons and measuring cups and dug for worms. I told Evelyn that they could only really dig along the fences or up close to the house because I didn't want then digging in the flat part where we had it graded. So every few minutes Evelyn would yell up to me "Mom! I'm digging [here or there] because I know you paid to have the flat part and I won't dig it up!"

And this is what it looks like when I ask Caden to start getting ready for bed. Pants around his ankles, looking through his binoculars yelling "Mom! are you close to me?"
Then the plague hit the day Steven left. Caden kept me company though.

The kids were getting pretty stir crazy so I sent them out to play in the front yard. They weren't out there for more than 2 minutes and it started to rain...Hard

Caden found things to keep him busy inside for the most part. But by Wednesday, I had my mommy pretty worried and she had Caden come and stay the night, the Thursday had me come stay the night, Then I want to the Dr. on Friday which was pointless. After over 3 hrs of tests and waiting he actually told me to take a hot shower and get some rest...Thanks doc....

Caden cute as ever being a trooper and keeping busy.

We had such an exciting weekend. Evelyn lost her first tooth and she was just ecstatic!
And the tooth fairy came of course but since the tooth fairy had been sick, all she had on her was 10's and 20's....luckily, the week before, Evelyn had found a brand new Barbie she loved at the thrift store so I told her I would buy it now and she could save up her money for it. So yes....the first tooth cost the tooth fairy $10 but she got it right back....Good thing Evelyn's 5 because she has no idea totally got shafted
And the tooth fairy even left glitter behind on the money...She's so smart!
 Winter Renaissance Barbie circa 1996
And our day after lost tooth breakfast...smoothies with whipped cream of course
Apparently they thought I was pretty funny

A sick Saturday cuddle
I couldn't really do anything that weekend due to the sick, but it was a beautiful day so I sent the kids to play out front and I sat on the porch in my seats wrapped up in a blanket. The kids decided they wanted to do some raking, so I told them that was such a nice idea and that they could earn some money for their piggy banks doing that.But...since it was such a nice day, the neighborhood was bumpin', and when people would drive or walk by the house they would se this scene...A 3 year old and a 5 year old raking pine needles while their mom, in her pajamas, sits on the porch wrapped in a blanket drinking a hot drink, watching them while they call to her "Mom! is this enough to earn or money yet!?" and Evelyn saying to herself "Don't give up, you can earn the money" and Caden to Evelyn "We dan do it Dev! dis is dard!"

While I've been on my sickness, I've really been off food. If I get one meal in a day, it's a good day. Steven was super thoughtful and for my one meal on Saturday he had me order some sushi to go from our favorite sushi place downtown. I was able to get down, 5 maybe even 6 pieces so it was a good night....while we watched the office on our broken Ipad

Still sick on Monday, I went to a different dr who I'd never super liked up until this point but I couldn't get into anyone else same day. After my short venture to him of less than an hour, turns out I had/ have bronchitis and left with three different prescriptions and an inhaler. So feel pretty cool... It's day three of antibiotics and my sweet inhaler and I can already work around the house for 20 min with out having to take a nap or cough until I throw up or just not be able to breath in general. I still cant's go outside. The cold air does a number on me. My lungs sound and fell like pop rocks but I'm on the road to recovery. I'm hoping to be able to be back to my normal routine by Monday at the latest.

Caden is sweet though and made me a playdoh bandaid to help me get better

And then on Monday night, we lost tooth #2!!
She left a nice little note for the tooth fairy this time. But then at 1AM she came storming in our room crying and screaming mad about how the tooth fairy came and took her tooth but didn't leave her any money. "She STOLE it!!" Well the money had just fallen off her bad when she lifted her pillow so crisis averted and the tooth fairy is not the crook she was made out to be.
Since I was sick last week we had to miss Evelyn's dance class and did a make up class. Evelyn's best friend Ana was in the class after the one we went to. They seriously are inseparable.
And everyday...everyday, Evelyn gives me a new note from Ana telling me the time and day of the next play date that they planned together on the bus. In this one, she even took into consideration how sick I've been, and offers to pick Evelyn up.

Happy Valentine's Day!

It has been a fun filled week. We tend to keep busier than anyone one should be. We are still right in the thick of busy season and hands down it is the worst one yet. Every year, it feels like the worst one because by the time busy season comes around, we've had 8 nice months of Steven having normal work hours and taking lots of days off then all of a sudden he's ripped away for 4 months. This year however, it all started about October then got worse with each month and now we're in month 5, and even though he's been in town, we rarely see him. He leaves Tuesday for Cashmere and I start up house projects. Gonna give the ole kitchen a face lift.

So...Our past week has been this...
best typo ever in the Ward bulletin.

I sent this to Amanda and she was all, "Hide yo kids hide yo wives!"

The kids already rally against me. I told Caden no more milk so he went to his sister for some love and soothing
He was not happy with me. Look at them stink eyes

We also went shopping at JC Penny's and Caden tried on some real nice things
The weather was so nice this week so we had the chance o go on a few walks to the park. One of which was right after we got back from shopping and Caden was in a mood and refused to walk home.
Evelyn is doing so good in kindergarten. I think it's so amazing that they go in only knowing their letters and in 6 months she can writer her own sentences without any help. This was her valentine to me
And then her get well card...some sentences are better than others...this one says, Mom you oru sbeshlu I hop uo feeri. Translation, Mom you are special I hope you feel better.

We got our Newsies tickets!!!

Evelyn had me make her some special pancakes....I've made better
And I made some pretty cupcakes for a party I went to this week
Evelyn, of course, had her dance class and nailed it yet again.
Greg, Jennifer, and Hagen were here this week and invited Caden to stay the night up on the mountain a few nights so me and Evelyn got lots of mommy Evelyn time. I was able to go to her school Valentine's day party and it was really cute. Her class prepared us a nice valentine's day poem for the volunteers.

And at recess, Evelyn played flag football.

You will notice she is the only girl out there...she took a shoulder to her face but handled it quite well
And we had our special Valentine's day hair style for her party
Then Saturday, we went up to Mt. Spokane to go tubing with Papa, Greg, Jennifer and Hagen. Caden decided he'd better not go because he had a cough.
Honestly...It was quite disappointing. The hill was so small and slow and the tubes had this cover on them and would fill up with water so Evelyn was soaked through after only going down 4 times. Hagen had a right nice time though.
They did have a nice pulley system so you didn't have to walk back up the 25 yards of slightly sloped terrain...
After run 4, when Evelyn got to the top she decided enough was enough and she'd only come for one thing anyway...the hot chocolate.
Then she pretended to sleep on the way home. You might ask, "how do you know she was pretending?" and I would answer...

This is how I know. Evelyn's hecka cute, but she don't sleep like a lady
And we picked up some sweet suspenders for Caden and he looked so freaking dapper for church this morning

And the best thing about Caden's suspenders is they go from church to play clothes seamlessly...

For Steven's Valentine's Day present, I got him a pillow case to take with him when he's traveling this next month and a half so he won't miss me so much. Life like wouldn't you say?
