9 Months!

We are having so much fun! Now that Evelyn can get around and interactively play, everyday is the best day ever. We just got back from the doctor and she's healthy as ever. She's slowed down a bit with her growing. She's 28 1/2 in (75th %) and 18lbs and 13oz (50th%). She's got two teeth and still loves Daisy. She can get around, although not conventionally. She's not a really big fan of using her arm strength as of now so she'll stretch one arm as fast as it can go, put her head on the floor and then bring her knees up to her face and then stretch the other arm out until she's on her belly again...so she definitely gets where she wants to go and surprisingly fast. It kinda looks like she's and inch worm swimming...if inch worms had arms....we're getting there though. If i put her on her hands and knees she can sort of hold it, but she prefers her method.

She sure is getting brave though. She loves to practice walking. Holding on to our fingers and going everywhere. The other day she decided that she needs to do it on her own and tries to let go and push you away. She does good standing by herself, but those little legs cannot move her yet. As much as we are looking forward to her walking, I can barely keep up with her swimming around. She loves to pull books off the shelves and get in Daisy's water, chewing on Daisy's toys (which I haven't found a way of preventing. When I put them away, Daisy finds them and brings them to her) she puts everything in her mouth. We're taken up vacuuming everyday so there's nothing for her to get her hands on...yeah like that helps. I've pulled caps, sticks, plant leaves, basket wicker and tags out of her mouth. How do they find stuff? I'm blaming Daisy because besides her blocks, I see NOTHING on the floor.

That's pretty much all we're up to. The wind has been pretty bad here lately so we've kept indoors even though it's super nice looking out. She loves going to the kids club at the gym. There's a little boy there her age and they are so cute playing together. She's really good sharer and always makes sure Daisy gets some of whatever she's eating. We were able to go to the Just Between Friend Sale this last week and got some pretty good deals. It was a little more expensive this year, but we got what we needed. BUT if you haven't heard of or been to this sale, check it out jbfsale.com . It's a consignment fair and it's going on right now all over the country. They do it twice a year and it's new and gently used baby and kids stuff and clothes. We spent $100 and got a booster seat, a bucket of blocks, some learning toys, safety stuff, and like 12 outfits. All of it is in great condition and some of it still had the tags on it. He dress in the picture is from Gymboree and was $4. Anyway, these are her 9 month pictures. We have so much fun doing these!

It's so funny how she has her own little personality. I love this picture because it's SO her. Just so happy she can't even stand it. This is the face she makes all day.

This is her showing off her new teeth picture.
I also just decided to add my favorites things list. I've been thinking about it for a while because, well, I love Ellen, and she has a favorite things week. SO this week I added to my list Greek Yogurt. So work the extra 40 cents or so a piece. So far the cherry pomegranate is my favorite. But it's like this, it's the same amount of points as yoplait light yogurt and is so very creamy, not like watered down like yoplait. Given their thick and creamy yogurts are good, but have kind of a funny after taste. So I've been getting Fage 0% and it is such a good snack.
More on my list:
warm spring days when you spend all day cleaning with the windows open and it smells so good (not a thing but I love it)
I love my car, so 91' Dodge Dynasty's
Sunflowers
My camera (Nikon D60)
Photoshop
Netflix
Bones the TV show (thanks to Netflix we are now addicted)
Board Games (counting specialty card games, I wouldn't be surprised if we had over 60 games. Thank you thrifts store and ebay)
That's pretty much all...I wish I had a couch to love but really all we have is that giant black pillow couch.
I also really love the area we are in. I love that Target is a 5 min walk and the library is a 7 min walk and goodwill is a 10 min walk. I love that even though we are super close to everything, you can still see the stars at night. I love that housing developments have their own little parks so there are literally more parks than I can count or even know of in a 10 mile radius. I love that being here just makes you want to be healthier and more active. When you have 65 degree weather in February, there is no reason not to be out and about on all of the trails. I love that the Cherry Creek trail is right next to our apartment (Trailside apts...get it) and it goes on for mile, like 40 or more of them. I, however, do not love tax season and cannot wait to be able to see Steven more than and hour or two a day. Kind of a long post...hope you like the pictures!

She Has Teeth and Knows How to Use Them!

Well...I think we may have a biter on our hands. While she's been teething, she will sneakily get a hold of you- whether it be your fingers, toes, shoulder, or whatever is closest to her mouth. Which, if I do say so myself, is adorable as of now. The other week at Church she was sitting next to me and I had my hand slung over the back of the pew when Steven told me to look down at her..she was turtle necking it stretching as hard as she could to bite my finger. BUT she has now got two bright happy little teeth and I'm just hoping the biting goes away. However...she is the happiest teething baby I have ever seen. The only thing that was different was she went to bed two hours later...so going to bed like at 8:30 instead of 6:30. I'll take that and a mini-biter any day. She's tough....and so cute.

So, no pictures of Evelyn today and let me tell you why. Our lap top went belly up the other day so all the pictures I took of her at the park the other day are currently stuck there until the IT guy at Stevens work can extract the hard drive. But we did get a new computer...Yay. we found out that the one of the reasons we go through laptops so fast (one every year) is because we use it as our movie player and watch movies in bed...apparently, when you put your lap top on cloth, it can't cool down because the fan just sucks the fabric so it over heats and dies....within a year. Understandably the two cups of water and several long falls of the latest lap top were not exactly healthy for it. So we now have a desk top with a 20in screen! That's right! 20 in....Ok so we still don't have a tv so compared to a laptop screen that's huge for us. BUT since we can't watch movies in bed anymore, we have to watch them in the living room and here's the kicker...we also don't have a couch. So I went thriftin and picked this beauty up for $3.

It's like a lazy boy futon...chair and bed. Admittedly hard to get out of but comfy. I guess we'll just have to take turns sitting on it...which means every time it's Stevens turn I'll make him feel guilty for sitting on it so he'll offer it to me...genius plan

I did find a few pictures on my phone. For any one that was wondering, Evelyn in taller than a tall laundry basket...one of the ones that is above mid thigh on me :) That seems really tall. She's in 18mo clothes because other wise her ankles and tummy show too much...they kinda swim on her width wise but fit tall wise. And she looks super cute in shorts.

Us looking over the laundry basket

Driving the bus at the park

On our morning walk

This is why we never sit in our rocking chair...it's a little crowded with three

Forgot to flip this one and it's too much effort to do it now...so cute in shorts tho

This was my make shift couch before I got the black unit. It worked for reading. I just finished, And then there were none by Agatha Christie....SO good. I've also read 2 Gail Carson Levine books and am reading the Ugly series...again. I do like to read, I just like people to tell me what to read so I don't have to read any books I don't like. Any suggestions?

Paging All Mommies...

So Evelyn has always had a bit of a diaper rash and it's gotten quite bad a few times, so we have been to the doctor for it but they're remedy, anti-fungal cream and LOTS of desitine, is no longer working, and today it cracked a little and just breaks my heart. SO I was wondering if any mommies have any remedies that seem to work for you. Fear not, we will take her to the doctor if it continues to be as bad as it is now, we just wanna look at some other options because my experiences with the pediatrician have been thus...wait it out...make sure she's drinking fluids...put some cream on it, and I'm not really wantin' to shell out another $210 for wait it out or put some cream on it (but we will if needs be). So if any cream or combination of creams or whatever has worked for you, please let us know.

P.s Can babies have too much oatmeal?

8 Month Pictures

I finally got around to touching up some of Evelyn's 8 month photo's...aka I'm finally home and no one at my parents house has photoshop. So yes, we are home and what a trip it was. We always have a good time at my parents house but the traveling part is not to wonderful. This last flight, we had a crack for a stewardess. Evelyn flys' for free because she's under 2 and qualifies as a lap child, however, when the seat next to me s empty, I let her play next to me. I've done it many times and have never had a problem. This time, I set her next to me and was getting everything ready for the flight when the stewardess asks me how old she is. I say 8months, and she says, well then put her on your lap. . . .SERIOUSLY? Ok, so yes, she's supposed to be in my lap but if it was that big of a deal surly she could have been nicer about it. But don't worry, she was a crack to everyone and even had rude announcements, like, if your traveling through to Huston on this aircraft, please stay in your seat. If you move at all, we will ask you to leave the plane and you will not reach your final destination...I've typically had good experiences with southwest, but this flight and my attempted last flight did not go so well.

So these where taken the last weekish of February...

And the this one, Sabrina had a cow puppet trying to make her laugh and she got super excited.

SO Done Traveling....

Evelyn and I have traveled quite a bit since she was born, her first flight being when she was 7 weeks old. Since then we have taken 2, 9 hr car rides, and 3 roundtrip plane rides. However this last one was a doosy. We got to the airport on Tuesday at 1:50pm after an hour car ride to the airport. We are pro's at security and were through in a breeze (the guy behind me actually complimented us on our speed. He said he was expecting to have to help me but I was done before he got the chance to offer) So get to out gate and the plane we're supposed to catch is broke down in Boise and they want to send us to Vegas with a 2 hr lay over then on to Denver. A little while later, the plane was fixed and left Boise and we'd just have an hour and a half delay...irritated but whatever. And THEN get this, Southwest's entire comuter system crashes and they have no communication anywhere they fly in the whole united states and have to ground ALL of their flights EVERYWHERE. So I get a voucher to fly for free and have my daddy make the hour drive back to the airport to take me home. When all was said and done, we had spent 6 1/2 hours traveling and ended up back at my parents house.
Evelyn waiting at the airport.

Later that night I called southwest and their systems didn't go back up until 9pm that night. So now we fly home on Satureday which honestly worked out better than going home on Tuesday...and let me tell you why. Steven was supposed to be home this last week to pick me up from the airport BUT on Satureday at work they tell him someone is sick and they have to fly him to Louisianna the next morning....great. So then we have to scurry to try and find someone to pick me up (thank you Kotters) only to have to cancel. AND then since now I'm not home this week to pay our rent, we had to find someone to go take our check to the apt office so we weren't charge $50 a day for the two days we'd be late (Thanks again Kotters :) ) AND since I had to change my flight I had to spring an extra 3 days on the family that is watching Daisy...Basically this week has been hard, but I'm with my fam, so it worked out.

So today I was feeling bummed that I'm not home with Steven and just kind mopey, so I wrote to the Ellen Degeneres show telling them about our motorcycle accident and how because of it we had to spend all of our savings on medical bills, and that our savings was for our honeymoon before we went off to school, and now we'll never get a honeymoon. So cross your fingers we'll get a Vaca. I love Ellen, just so we're all on the same page...and so does Evelyn.

What we've been doing at home...

Sleeping in the car

She was so sad the other day for some reason

She loves he kitties

Took this napkin away a little too late..

She decided she really didn't wanna be changes, grabbed her diaper and made a run for it
