Oh Boy! Has it Been a Long Time!

So I have this problem, or have been having this problem. Evelyn hates me being on the computer. Like not just a little. Like climb up on my lap and bug the bat snot out of me until i forfeit and just stop doing what i felt like I needed to do...because obliviously it wasn't as important as sitting on the couch and watchin her play with her weebles. Watching. She doesn't actually let me play anything with her. As long as I'm sitting doing literally nothing, I can't even read a book, she's happy as clam. But now she's old enough to watch a movie by herself for more that 5 minutes before she loses interest so I'm practicing my awesome parenting skills and put on Open Season and went in the next room.
So here's a recap of the last 9 months.
End of OCTOBER-
We had a fall photo shoot

She was a cute cat for Halloween even though we didn't go any where
 NOVEMBER-
She found a new favorite hiding spot. I seriously just left a suit case in the kitchen for a month because it kept her so occupied
She took after mommy and stated stacking her cheese on her pretzels

Cousin Josee was born!!!

 November phone pictures-
Evelyn decided she likes to sit in the fridge than  on Thanksgiving we got a treat when she escaped from her bath and went and sat in the fridge 100% naked
Her favorite game for a while was smashing her face against anything see through. Windows, screens, her bed canopy...
And Steven got his first deer. We were all so excited....except for the fact that the smell of deer makes me want to throw up. Evelyn didn't know quite what to think but she would point to Steven's deer and then to all the deer mounts in my dad's shop. So I don't think she really understood that that kind of animal is ever any different than hanging on  the wall

 DECEMBER-
I don't remember if it was November or December but Steven was offered a Full time position at the company he was interning for, BDO accounting firm. He'll be doing auditing but a whole lot less travel than he was doing in Colorado. Like a few weeks top. We're pretty excited because they've already been super awesome. We went to their Christmas party, and they sent Steven a Christmas present, and then the family a present. Also if he ever has to travel two weeks in a row, they'll fly me out to spend the weekend with him.
This was our Christmas card picture.
Most of them turned out like this ^.... so we only got one to send out
 Even Daisy was festive

We also did ugly Christmas Sweaters on Christmas day. It was rather enjoyable
 December Phone Pictures-
when we were Christmas shopping, Evelyn was wearing her snow boots that had super traction and she wasn't used to walking indoors with them and they stuck to the floor and she went head first into a table
 Sporting the high tights look
Cousin Josee is so cute!! Her first bubble bath with her mommy
Evelyn's first fort night. we love fort night
At Christmas in Seattle we went shooting with two of Steven's brothers (Matt and David) and their wives (Jackie and Chelsey) I'm a sharp shooter.

JANUARY-
I think the only even in January was Sabrina's wedding, which was a lot of fun. We got to spend quite a bit of time in Salt Lake just hanging out with the Fam. I also got to do their wedding pictures and had a ton of fun doing that.

There for a day or so I seriously thought we weren't gonna make it to the wedding. Evelyn got so sick. Fever of 103 and throwing up for days. Luckily, the throwing up stopped before we got on the plane and by the time we landed in Salt Lake her fever went below 100 for the first time all week.

This is a really nice picture I know. I keep a real clean baby, but it's the picture or her first real hair cut. Done by, obviously, me. I hate hair in the face so I just wanted straight across bangs. Well straight is all relative.
She also got her first bike. We found it at a thrift store. Brand new Radio Flyer for $5. January or not, we couldn't pass it up. This was her riding it around the store.

FEBRUARY-
We got snow in February

 Evelyn loves her babies
We found an outside play toy. It's not real big, but she could do it by herself.
This was our family Valentine's Day picture
 And the cutest cherub ever

End of February....YAY we're expecting another baby!!!!

MARCH-

We took Evelyn to visit uncle Josh and aunt Angela's to see the horses, cows and chickens for the first time. She got brave enough to feed the chickens...

Not so brave with the horses
We took a few cousin pictures
Evelyn wore her rain slicker everywhere

And Steven and Evelyn went on a daddy daughter date to cold stone and Steven let her have an ice cream cone in the car....Surprisingly little mess to clean up

APRIL-
April is when we take our family pictures to send out for mothers day presents in may.

We also used our Mother's Day cards as 'we're expecting' announcements.

Evelyn's gotten quite good at following directions, but sometimes...most times, she only mostly follows. This is her after I told her to get ready and then she could play outside. Apparently, a hat is all you need to be ready and since she can open the door by herself, she just went out and started playing with daisy.

Our ward was doing these get togethers every month to have breakfast and talk about being a mom. The issue of having a hard time in the grocery store got brought up and one mom said that if her daughter is good the whole trip, she lets her pick something out from the bakery at the very end before they check out. The tactic of 'I'll buy you a treat if you're good' worked wonders....the rest of the afternoon on a neon frosting sugar high was not worth it.

One of our favorite games is playing nap. This is her snuggled up in grandam and papa's bed. and below is Evelyn reading to her baby after taking an actual nap

Steven teaching Evelyn the art of self portraiture.

And Amanda and Jason and Sabrina and Devin all got to come in the month of April. Two separate weekends so we weren't all together at the same time. Amanda and Jason stayed the night at our house one night so we set up an air mattress and Evelyn went nuts over it! running in circles and jumping like mad. She was so happy to have company!

MAY-

Evelyn decided she was brave enough to play on the big kids toys by herself including climbing all the way up to the big slides and going down
I discovered Evelyn can't be left alone with the cat and the laundry...
We took father's day pictures for my dad. Seriously? Well it's a memory I guess
Evelyn strutted around in her new swim suit for me in brown clogs two sizes too small. that girl loves shoes no matter what size, she'll wear them.

JUNE-
We took Evelyn to the Clayton burger for the first time. A right of passage really.

She flew a kite all by herself. She was so excited. It was cute watching her run and run yelling 'mom go go. daddy go go!'
Evelyn's first trip to the sweet factory
When we're out at my parents house, Evelyn does a really good job of playing outside all by herself. But now she can open the gate and climb up on the tractor all by herself....so apparently more supervision is needed.
 We love to bake together
With all the new baby talk, Evelyn's reverted back a little....she even has me put cousin Josee's diapers on her from time to time even though they're a size too small.

 YAY! It's a BOY
 Happy tummy picture
I cracked my tooth...and I seriously hate going to the dentist. It's a good look though. Dentist dam green is really my color.

For Steven's father's day present we framed him this.

And then there was Evelyn's Birthday!!! 2 whole years old

Me and Steven got her a cupcake kitchen and lots of balloons.
We had her open presents as soon as she got up so she was a little groggy
Evelyn loves fish so the above picture is her saying 'fish' (shish as she says) and below are her birthday cupcakes.
We had such a busy day. After morning presents we went to petco so she could pick out her own real fish. She picked a reddish orange beta and named him Momo. There was a bit too much excitement for one day which made a standard 1pm nap impossible, so she crashed at about 5 that night still playing with all her babies.
Eventful end of June- The week after Evelyn's birthday we find out that our landlord has a renter scheduled to move into our house the first of August...and since we're on month to month, he could really just kick u out like that, so we started packing. Luckily (we think) we had been kind of browsing bigger houses in the neighborhood, and so we jump on one that's 5 houses down from us, fill out all the paper work, BUT when we go to pay our deposits and first month rent, this guy had given it to someone else. Keep in mind we already had a move in date. So that leave us in July with no where to live and our house packed up.
Mommy and Daddy to the rescue! So since we had no time to find a new place, we decided to take up my parents offer and come stay with them for a while. We'll be here for anywhere from 8 months to forever. We're saving our rent money and by next summer will be able to afford to buy a house and not have to deal with deposits and landlords. So far so good.

JULY-

Steven loves fire works so we got Evelyn some sparklers to watch, but this is what she decided they're used for.

And she was so excited when she saw what they actually did

I turned 25 this year and felt like watermelon instead of cake

Amanda and Jason came to visit again. It was Amanda's 10 year high school reunion and this how our Sunday looked.
Evelyn loves to jump. We have a little exercise trampoline at home for her but this was her first time on the big ole trampoline
She likes to hide from me when she's up set. She typically is just so angry with me she can't bear to be in the same room as me but this time she settled for under one of our end tables
Laundry day is tragic. Most times I can sneak her blanket away with no problem but with my parents front loaders, she could see that she was being tricked and watched and cried.
Since we're at my parents, she loves for go visit GG (great grandma) and her fish. No sooner did I get her out of bed and changed her diaper did she start bossing me. She put her own shoes and sun glasses on then brought me my shoes and sun glasses. "Go mom go. Shoes. Eyes (sun glasses) Go!"

This last weekend we went and watched Gracie and Tracey barrel racing

And then up until Sunday Evelyn has always been really hesitant to get in and play with water toys like at the splash pads or in the sprinkler but Gracie came up with a fool proof way to get her wet.... She'd cover the sprinkler head with her hands, then call Evelyn over to her, then pull her hands away when Evelyn got really close. They had so much fun.

That brings us to now. We've been super busy moving so haven't had the chance to do Evelyn's two year pictures yet. With Steven working full time and going to school full time, we haven't even unloaded all of our stuff at my parents, even though we've been here for a week now. I've been picking and pitting cherries like crazy cause I do love me some cherry jam and Steven has a swim race this weekend in Sandpoint so we get to get away for a day. Steven's officially done with school on August 17th and we can't even wait. I made him a paper chain, but I think saying two and a half more weeks sounds better than looking at two and a half weeks of chains...it make it seem longer. In case you were wondering, it has taken me 3 days of spare moments to do this blog..so I think maybe I'll blog more often, or try. The baby is due the first week of November, so we'll have a couple down months after the move and after Steven finishes school. Yay for my first blog in 9 months!
