I've been meaning to blog for a while, but we've been SO busy. I never know how it happens, but sure enough it does. Little Caden and me go to the gym at 9 every morning, and then run errands, and before I know it, its noon and we have to hurry home to meet Evelyn's bus. Then of course it's lunch time and Gossip Girl time, and we've literally had engagements every single night for the last two weeks. So here we are. Another month gone and Christmas right around the corner. This is what we've been up to....
Steven was out of town on his 30th birthday, so I called a local flower shop where he was and had a stuffed animal, a Star Wars balloon and some candy sent to his hotel room. He said at first he was confused because the hotel called him at work and said he has a delivery and when Steven asked what it was, apparently the clerk was embarrassed for him. Steven however does not get embarrassed to he loved it.
Caden, however, LOVED it. It was love at first sight for him and the stuffed pony. He even had me put a jacket on it to go outside and was lovingly dubbed Moosehorse.
Since Evelyn's been in school, I get to spend a lot of one on one time with Caden and she got to feeling a little left out. So we went out to Shari's for waffles. She LOVES Shari's. Like when she plays kitchen, she's a Shari's waitress and that's what she wants to be when she grows up. Aim high...
This was a miraculous day where Caden fell asleep on the way to the mountain, and actually transferred to the couch when we got there. That hasn't happened in , no joke, a least 2 years.
This one's a little hard to see but it's Evelyn's first love note...From Cole... See the hearts. He may be trouble
The kids love that Caden's tractor triangle glows when you take a picture of it. Caden....sweet as ever
Caden waiting to get Amanda and Jakey's bag at the airport. So helpful!
Caden's 3rd birthday cake. This little boy loves tractors. He was so worried that no one would get him tractors for his birthday, he kept trying to talk me into getting him some early. Everyone got him a different tractor and it was the best day ever!
His favorite part of the cake was the little man I put in the cow pin and had him shoveling poop. When in came time to serve the cupcakes, the poop pieces were the most popular. The nativity I made.
For whatever reason, anytime I get a room in the house completely clean, that is where Caden takes all his toys....
We also had a serious wind storm. We lost power for just two and a half or three days. We spent the first night at home, but by morning the temperature in our house was already like at 50* and our fire place upstairs is purely decoration and the one downstairs the draft is broken, so to the mountain we went to keep warm
I had some battery operated Christmas lights the kids slept with that night
But nothing can keep GG away from her stampin'! She went and was stamping in the sunlight.
My mom and aunt's book club was that next night, when no on still didn't have power, but book club was still on! This was attempt one of the white cake in the woodstove oven...
Attempt two was perfect and the dinner was delicious! And so pretty!
This is my favorite part about running errands....
I just love our new hair stylist. She's so good with Evelyn and does and amazing job. Evelyn's trying to grow her hair out like Elsa, so we just needed a trim and them she braided it for her and Evelyn was just so happy!
The week of Thanksgiving I had nothing on the calendar for Monday-Wednesday so we hit the potty train and hit it hard. He's done really well. It took two days for him to really catch on but after week two, we haven't even had any accidents . One small problem was Caden's, well, huge and his potty was too small to we had to improvise.
Someone left me a tasty treat on the stair climber at the gym. BEST. DAY. EVER.
We had our first snow day. The kids were so excited. it wasn't a tone of snow, but when they saw it, Caden said, I can't wait to eat it all!!! Not to play or sled but eat. And he eats it off the ground, the trees, the garbage cans, the car tires, the mail box, hand rails, the bumpers of other cars in parking lots....
Another mommy and Evelyn date.
He really is a sweet little man
Caden Selfie
Josee's birthday cake
I made 4 wreaths this tear and only managed to get a picture of the one for my mommy
I was in the kitchen at my parents when I heard Caden yell, Help! so I ran in the living room and apparently he had gotten under the tree and Evelyn had turned the train on
Our tree we bought was too big for our tree stand so Steven trimmed up the sides a bit. Now we know for next year not to do this. Our tree died in like a week.
Caden took quite a spill. he fell off the very top of Evelyn's loft bed and fell face down on her baby's pack and play.
Seriously trying to take a nap in the snow
Steven had told Caden that as soon as he was potty trained enough, we would all go and do any activity of his choosing and he chose the trampoline park. So we're at the park and there are these twin boys not much older than two with out any supervision. When we were just wrapping up and ready to go, we notice one just standing there looking around...next to a big ole poop! So sweet Evelyn, wanting to make sure everyone is being played with, and not seeing the poop, heads toward him. And Steven's yelling at her to stop and we're running to her, so she's looking at us but continuing her walk to him, and steps square in the poop and freaks out and starts rubbing her foot backwards and everywhere! Keep in mind that the non trampoline parts are carpeted. It was a huge mess. But don't worry, to make up for it, we got a free pair of socks....
Christmas 2013
We like to send Steven pictures through out the day, so I pulled out me phone and said lets take a picture for daddy! Took one and looked at it, and we'd all made the exact same face with out any sort of prompting. We had a good laugh about that
Caden "cleaning" his room
I got me some fake eye lashes!!!
A nice card I sent Amanda and Jason
The ward Christmas party theme was the polar express and they really went all out
