5 Months Already

Evelyn is 5 months as of today. So, as per usual, we had our monthly photo shoot.

We were in Washington this past week and had tons of fun. Evelyn loved all the attention and she also loved this car...along with her new hat. Grandma got that for her when we were there.

Evelyn also watched TV for the first time...ever (we don't have a TV). There's a reason our pediatrician says no TV before 2 years old. She was addicted! Normally she stays us for 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs between naps, but she stayed up all evening watching Lost with my mom. So first and last time. It was really funny though. She was laughing and giggling the whole time.

We also got to see Harry Potter 7 when we were home (we meaning my mom and me). It was good...I do like the movies (Steven does not) but I like them separate from the books. The books are well, nothing less then world rocking and the movies (in comparison) are a mere 3.0 on the Richter scale. However, the movies in and of themselves, are very descent. But really, it's like this, They have to cut so much out for the movies, why are they adding stuff that never even happened?

I also got the opportunity to make cookies for Stevens', Boss', Daughters' bridal shower. The theme was 'around the clock' (I have no idea how that relates to anything...I didn't ask) so they asked me to make clock cookies...Done. And for the record, If you ever complain about paying less than $1000 for an elaborate cake, to you I say 'try making it your own Freaking self'. It took me hours to make 36 cookies. I've spent days, nay, WEEKS on a single cake. I do not make cakes for an income for one reason and one reason only; No one can afford me. I love doing it, but holy freaking cow is it time consuming...and messy. End of rant. Except that if you do want me to make your cake, I'd do the labor for free if you buy me a cake cricut. (OK funny typo- I originally had 'fake' cricut...I would not make a cake for a plastic bug). Seriously, that's only like $450 for a wedding cake, spread the word. I even have a cake portfolio, I mean business.

Birthday, Organizing, and 80's Movies

It's already been a busy month. Both Daisy and Steven had their birthdays. Daisy in one whole year old now and Steven is 25.

We didn't do much to celebrate because Steven had his 3rd CPA exam the day before his birthday so we just kind of relaxed and then Amanda and Jason came for a visit. But Steven did get his cranberry jello cream cheese 'cake'...why...because he loves it and wants it more often than thanksgiving

We mostly just played games but it was nice to have more than two people playing . Steven and I play games all the time and to be honest...it's nice not to see him win every time. Mostly because when it's just the two of us, him winning means me losing, so this way, we both lose.

Steven and Jason went to a basketball game Friday night and I had the brillient idea to have a sweater makeover session...not so great. Amanda just made broaches and hair things but I decided it was a good idea to try and imitate this sweater....

Cute sweater right...well, not so cute with dark purple and dark green stripes and a light purple bow... see...

So after everyone left, I decided our apartment needed a serious makeover. I really wish I had before pictures because it was a disaster. In Evelyn's 'room' there was hardley room enough to walk through it. litterally there was a path. And her closet was just piled with junk. We had so much stuff still in boxes and totes. So...room makeover...Tada!

\

And then this is Steven and my closet. Floor to ceiling organization. It took 4 days to get our apartment looking like this but it finally feels like a home.

I went to Babies R Us today and got a screamin deal. Usually their clothes are way too expensive for me but they had these little jeans and top on supper clearance!! So I actually got the jeans in 2 sizes, for less than $2 each, and the little top for $1.40. Their size 12-18 month so it won't be until spring or summer that she wears them but so cute!

I decided I really like cheezy 80's romance movies so if you have any good sugestions send them my way. Just watched Romancing the Stone, loved it...Again. I'd seen it but still like it

Well, it's chili bean firday so I'm off to make dinner, and then tomorrow Evelyn and I fly to spokane. Steven's going to Alabama for the week on business, so we get a vaction.

Our Little Roller

Evelyn rolled over for the first time on Sunday. She's always hated tummy time but we thought we'd give it another go, and she just did it right off. She was so proud of herself. She still hates being on her stomach but at least she can get off her stomach now.

I also was able to get this video to upload. This is still the first day she laughed, she hasn't done it since but we're sort of patiently waiting .

We've also been trying the solid food thing this week...not so successful. I don't think her little tummy's quite ready for it. She's got the eating thing down...but the days we spoon fed her she had some serious tummy trauma, so we're going to cut back and hold off full time spoon feeding for a while. Also, it's hard getting rice cereal out of her little nostrils.

Today I was the last voter for Douglas county. I had forgotten to vote and was on my way to the gym, passing by the high school i was supposed to vote at, and thought I'd go check and see if the polls were closed. Got lost in the parking lot...no I don't want to talk about it...finally got to where I was supposed to be at 6:59 and the polls closed at 7pm so I did get to vote and I got my sticker. I am a responsible citizen.

I also made Evelyn a coat rack today. A while ago, Hobby Lobby had all their hanger letters and ceramic letters on super clearance, So today was the day I re found all the letters and hung them up. (I lover her little jackets!!)

I was also able to sneak in and get a picture of sleeping Evelyn. She sucks her thumb to sleep, so when she finally falls asleep, it just falls right next to her.

And I lover this sweater she's wearing but when we go out in it, I always make sure she's wearing a bow...We've had an old lady ask how old HE was the first time out in blue with out a bow. She'll get her hair eventually...I'm banking on that it's curly. She has about 5 really dark, corkscrew hairs that jet out and are all sorts of kinky and curly.
