Catching up on June

June was an especially busy month for us. Steven kicked off the month by going to Banks Lake with his brother Matt to do some rock climbing.

And Steven also got a new fedora, which was, and is, a big deal

The kids also have mastered hide and seek. Well....Evelyn can find good hiding places but when you call out,"Where are you!?" Caden will always yell back, "Wight here!"

The kids love that on my new phone you can turn the camera around and see yourself so we take quite a bit of selfies.
When all of Caden's work shirts were in the laundry, I thought one of Evelyn's would be alright for the evening... but apparently I was very wrong.
Oh just poppin' the top of a Monster on the Mountain....we had gotten the "no spill" pop can toppers and the kids loved them so much we put their drinks in the only unsmashed cans we could find.
 Oh Caden...

Caden also told me, " Mom, tum ting in mine gum..." and handed me this....poor little man forgot to take the wrapper off!
Just some fun in the sprinklers at Grammy and Papa's with Wyatt and Josee
It got hot here quick this year. Like HOT HOT. And Cade, well he don't do heat.
It was so hot, my rearview mirror melted off...
I fixed it though, all by myself.
And I got an amazing find at a yard sale. A little island slash breakfast bar for our kitchen.
And it has drop down leaf
We have some friends who everyday on the last day of the school year rent this giant blow up slide. This was our second year on it and Caden's first where he can actually go on it
Poor boy wore himself out. He fell asleep eating his cheeseburger and fries on the way out to the Mountain after a morning of sliding fun.
But this little man sure cannot get enough of his GG.
Or his Papa for that matter...
 Or Baxter...

The kids decided to bury me one day when I was sick...They take such good care of me.
 Laying on more books
And then Evelyn put on a little show for me
We also got new luggage for the kids. And as always, the box was better.
We also have been doing the summer movie program. It's $5 for 9 movies and every week of summer is a different movie. The movies they play, except for the first week, are already out on video, but it's the big screen and they have been loving it.
And then there's sweet Evelyn's birthday! For her birthday this year we made her a loft bed and she got Princess bedding and a Frozen area rug. Evelyn picked out a beautiful purple for her bed and she loves it.
She wanted a Jesse party complete with costume so I was happy to make her one.
And this was her Jesse Cake

And no Jesse party would be complete without real pony rides! Angela was super awesome bringing Daisy pony over for the kids to ride.

Caden however, was not to thrilled with the idea.
He did think leading Daisy was a good idea until...

Until Daisy turned toward him, then he couldn't run to me fast enough!

On Evelyn's actual birthday we all went out to breakfast. Her Gma was in town with her cousins Alison, Ella and Calvin, because I was heading to girls camp the day after her birthday. Grammy, GG, and Steven also got to join us. And of course she wanted the strawberry waffles and shocked everyone by actually eating all of it!

And it's a good thing we went to Shari's where they serve Breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day because Caden, he loves his mac& cheese, even at 8 in the morning
Then there was girls camp. I only have a few pictures. It was hot. But the biffy committee had the accidentally funniest shirts ever.

Like I said, hot. Post nap pillow
And I took a braiding class and got my hair did
And on the way home....Got me my first ticket.
While I was at camp, Steven got the opportunity to repel down the tallest building in Spokane as a fund raiser for the special Olympics.

Evelyn dresses herself and its always a surprise. She sure does have posing down though. you can never just have one picture of Evelyn. You have to look at them in succession.

Steven obliged her though and sprayed her with the hose.
This was Caden for most of the spraying. Under a tarp in 100* weather.
Evelyn taking care of her mommy on another sick day.
Caden got a real nice hair cut...He just seemed so hot and he won't hold still for hair cuts, so we just buzzed it all off.
Naughty Caden took a toy garbage truck to Evelyn's face. Evelyn said she was laughing really hard and having fun with him them he just smashed her face....so that's nice. Face wounds sure do bleed. That baby bled until her gums were white. I thought for sure she was going to need to get stitches or something, but we slapped some orajel on it and she was just fine. You can definitely see it all the pictures take after this day for a couple weeks.

 More movie fun

Evelyn's getting quite skilled on the magnadoodle. Our family portrait complete with Daisy on leash.

And this is how our little boy eats his food...full face.

And unfortunately, this maybe the last time for the sleeping baby segment of our blog. Since Evelyn has her new loft bed, there is no more hanging off the side and no sneaky way to take picture of the sweet gaping mouths. We may still get a few of Caden. He's also getting a loft bed for his birthday so I'll have to get in as many sleepers of him as I can. This first one is when Caden fell asleep in Evelyn's bed while they were "playing" nap.

This one is more sad than funny. Poor little boy is so cold all curled up.

This a rare Evelyn nap. But these are nearly always precede by a not so rare Evelyn tantrum.
